Monday Mettā
Mettā: Loving friendliness, goodwill, and kindness directed both inward and outward.
I breathe in rest. My body is at rest. My mind is at rest. I am at rest.
Savasana, the resting pose in yoga, can be translated as “corpse pose.” Those few moments after a yoga flow provide the ultimate rest, and those slow movements at the end of savasana represent a reawakening.
Today, maybe you take a savasana (belly up or down!) now. Lie down, breathe, and repeat today’s mettā. I breathe in rest. My body is at rest. My mind is at rest. I am at rest.
✨
So glad you’re here.
No Monday Mettā next week! See you in two!

Wolf Moon
Wolf Moon
by Mary Oliver
Now is the season of hungry mice, cold rabbits,
lean owls hunkering with their lamp-eyes
in the leafless lanes in the needled dark;
now is the season when the kittle fox
comes to town in the blue valley of early morning…
Today is the first full moon of 2025, and is at its fullest around 5:27pm US eastern time. Called the Wolf Moon, among many other names, to me, this is a full moon of settling. In the Berkshires, it’s been flurrying for a week, and cold, cold, cold. Winter is settling in and I am settling under blankets.
In about two weeks, many celebrate the lunar new year, with January’s new moon.
Upcoming Workshops, Classes, and Ways to Connect
✨Four Sundays in February!
Boost your intuition through learning to read tarot cards.
This class is for beginners and seasoned tarot readers alike. Work with me for four Sundays in February to learn the meanings of the cards through an intuitive process.
This is not something you can glean from reading about tarot or searching for card "definitions." This workshop will facilitate your own intuitive powers to connect you with the cards and with your most creative self.
We will use targeted and specific tools and strategies, including partner work, intuitive practices, and journaling and along the way, you will gain confidence in yourself, ways to access intuition, and connection.

Your Tarot Reading, Revealed!
Card 1: Angelite // Seven of Pentacles
Love grows slowly, and when cared for with the right tools, food, and boundaries, can flourish. Remember, as you give love out to others, store love away for yourself. You are your most important love.
Card 2: Blue Adventurine // The Fool
The Fools moves by intuition, not empathy. Connect with what your spirit is telling you, instead of taking on the trials of others. You can still walk through the world with an open heart & spirit without it becoming heavy through the burdens of others.
Card 3: Blue Apitite // Six of Swords
You are all three figures here: take the wheel but also sit in reflection. It is in your best interest to move towards what you are dreaming of, but as you do, make sure you are very clear on what your dream is.
Rachel Barker's role as writer and intuitive is to facilitate the reader’s introspection, awareness, and reflection. Whether to make a particular choice or take a particular action is entirely the responsibility of the reader.
