Monday Mettā
Mettā: Loving friendliness, goodwill, and kindness directed both inward and outward.
I am connected. I breathe in connection.
One of the great joys in life is feeling highly connected to people, places, things, and beings without having to say a word. If you’ve ever had a pet, you know what I’m talking about. A connection that doesn’t need words, just a sense of being with something, someone, or someplace that feels mutually and energetically connected.
I sometimes call this interconnectedness. I feel it a lot, and it enriches my life. You know those kids who could be satisfied watching ants wander around the garden for an hour? Just in awe of those ants doing their thing? That’s me, about most things.
Tarot cards help me gain and keep that sense of wonder, of interconnectedness, of shared energy, and I believe they can be that for anyone. See below for more 💖

Tarot is for Anyone - Four Sundays in February
After studying tarot for years, and using it to gain insight for myself and for others, I have come to realize that having a powerful intuition isn’t necessarily what makes you a great tarot reader. Instead, tarot can be what brings forth your powerful intuition.
My upcoming February workshop revolves around this very idea: using tarot cards to facilitate your own intuition. Whether you’re an experienced tarot reader or a novice, this workshop offers the chance to study and play with your own intuitive thesaurus; grasp the difference between instinct, emotion, and intuition; use your power of insight and interpretation; and learn how to transfer these skills to “real life.”
Tarot cards do have prescribed meanings and "definitions," which you will learn, but you will also gain confidence in how your intuition processes the symbols, colors, numbers, letters, objects, and people present in the cards. You will be able to use your knowledge to grow your intuition for the future, with or without tarot cards.
Reading tarot is also a highly creative process. It is one of the most creative activities I do daily. This workshop is also for those interested in boosting that innovative and imaginative part of you through non-traditional means. Tarot cards are always as they seem and never as they seem, and part of the fun of it is finding that creative spot in the middle.
My workshop will include:
learning the “definitions” of the cards
designing your own intuitive thesaurus
launching creativity and imagination using tarot
skills-based practice by reading for yourself and others
the meanings of colors and numbers
the personalities of the Major Arcana
the symbolism of the Minor Arcana
how to use intuition and tarot cards to gain faith and trust in yourself
The workshop will be held each Sunday in February, from 4-5:15pm eastern time. The cost is $180, and the workshop will be recorded for those who have to miss a day.

Upcoming Workshops, Classes, and Ways to Connect
✨Four Sundays in February!
Boost your intuition through learning to read tarot cards.
This class is for beginners and seasoned tarot readers alike. Work with me for four Sundays in February to learn the meanings of the cards through an intuitive process. This is not something you can glean from reading about tarot or searching for card "definitions." This workshop will facilitate your own intuitive powers to connect you with the cards and with your most creative self. We will use targeted and specific tools and strategies, including partner work, intuitive practices, and journaling and along the way, you will gain confidence in yourself, ways to access intuition, and connection.

Your Tarot Reading, Revealed!
Card 1: Bloodstone // Seven of Pentacles
This week, assert yourself by observing and planning. This is not an action card—so don’t take any. Instead, sit back, look around you, and take note. Then, when you’re ready, you can act.
Card 2: Angelite // The Fool
Great card! The Fool is the very first of the “spirited” cards in the tarot deck. The French word for this card, le fou, has a few meanings. One is “bellows,” you know, those contraptions used to blow air on a fire. Since “spirit” is often represented by fire, the fool is the being that adds oxygen. Get fired up about something this week, adding air to an activity you already love, and you will feel your spirit.
Card 3: Peach Quartz // Knight of Swords
A traditionally insensitive card, the Knight of Swords is telling you to face your sensitivities head on. Get clear about what they are and become proud of them. How do your sensitivities help you gain clarity, or look at the world differently, or propel you to action?
Rachel Barker's role as writer and intuitive is to facilitate the reader’s introspection, awareness, and reflection. Whether to make a particular choice or take a particular action is entirely the responsibility of the reader.
