Monday Mettā
Mettā: Loving friendliness, goodwill, and kindness directed both inward and outward.
May I find compassion for myself and all beings.
When I teach yin yoga, I talk about the liver as the organ of compassion. We place ourselves in dragonfly pose for a few minutes (sometimes known as straddle pose, and very stimulating for the liver) and think or write about the ways we can offer ourselves more compassion.
So I ask you the same: where, in your life, can you find more compassion for yourself? And, how will you express it?
✨
So glad you’re here.

I’m back!
Hi, all! I took a month-long hiatus, which I wasn’t expecting, but was super necessary. In the past month I completed another semester of graduate school (and pulled off an A in class—remember when grades mattered?), produced a community-wide classical music festival, saw friends for a mini-reunion, and tried to get outside as much as possible.
We’ve had rain and cold weather here in the Berkshires for weeks now. But there was one glorious May week during which green began to pop through, the sun shone for days on end, and I was able to gather my first wildflowers of spring.
We also had a new moon last week. New moons help us reflect on phases, cycles, and how we move through them. For me, May was a month of fruition. I worked hard all semester at school, organized a successful festival, and it is now in my best interest to go dark and start again, as the moon just did. I am looking forward to taking time to travel a bit, sit on my porch with a few good books, write a little, and gather more wildflowers.

Your Tarot Reading, Revealed!
Card 1: Sodalite // Five of Swords
You are listening to too many voices, whether yours or the voices of others. Let some of the clatter fall away so you can get clear on what your intuition, not your brain, not your emotions, is telling you. Pause and take five long breaths whenever you need to connect with intuition.
Card 2: Green aventurine // Justice
Luck is all about balance and perspective. Sometimes when we experience something “negative,” we label it bad luck. But often, our bad-luck can be repackaged with a little hindsight. What we thought was yucky may have, in fact, propelled us towards something more aligned, exciting, and meaningful, turning into good luck after all.
Card 3: Unakite // The Moon
Life takes us on a lot of funny journeys. The path is not always clear. As you walk it, be loving and kind to yourself. As you make a mistake, remind yourself that mistakes create growth. If you find yourself walking a path over and over again, remind yourself that you are here this time to learn something new.
